Microsoft Office 365 Advanced Data Governance
Supports compliance efforts, while managing risk and cost
Protects data going in and out of organization
The Office 365 Advanced Data Governance component applies machine learning to help customers find and retain important data while eliminating trivial, redundant, and obsolete data that, if compromised, could cause risk. Advanced Data Governance includes proactive policy recommendations and automatic data classifications that allow customers to take actions on data—like retention and deletion—throughout its lifecycle. System default alerts help to identify data governance risks, while the providing admins the ability to apply compliance controls to on-premises data by intelligently filtering and migrating that data to Office 365.
Customer Lockbox, strengthens access to data, and requires two levels of approval for your data to even be accessed by Microsoft. This feature needs to be enabled as it is disabled by default, and permission to access the data expires after twelve hours.
Advanced eDiscovery helps you analyze unstructured data within Office 365, perform more efficient document review, and make decisions to reduce data for eDiscovery. You can work with data stored in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Skype for Business, Office 365 Groups, and Microsoft Teams. You can perform an eDiscovery search in the Office 365 Security & Compliance Center to search for content in groups, individual mailboxes and sites, and then analyze the search results with Advanced eDiscovery.
