Microsoft is opening the curtain on FY27, and partners should be aware of some notable upcoming dates. On July 22, Microsoft is holding MCAPS Start for Partners, a no-cost, digital event designed to give you the earliest, most direct view of where Microsoft is investing and what that means for partners.

Coming Soon: Microsoft Pricing Changes

Effective July 1, Microsoft will update global pricing and packaging updates for Microsoft 365 commercial suites. Pricing will increase across select Enterprise, Business, Frontline and standalone SKUs, with changes applying to new customers immediately and to existing customers at their next renewal.

At the same time, Microsoft is adding enhanced capabilities at no additional cost, including expanded Copilot Chat experiences, strengthened security protections like Microsoft Defender for Office, and improved IT management through Intune and related services.

This update presents an opportunity for partners to lead value-driven conversations and optimize customer environments ahead of renewal cycles. By educating customers about the benefits of higher-value bundles and linking the discussion to increasing Copilot adoption, partners can help customers unlock more ROI while dealing with pricing changes.

Packaging updates will begin rolling out in June 2026, with advance notice provided to customers prior to deployment. Read the full announcement here, and connect with your Pax8 account team to review customer licensing and to plan for renewals.

SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business: Retirement of Standalone Plans

Microsoft has announced the retirement of standalone SharePoint Online (SPO) Plan 1 and Plan 2 and OneDrive for Business (ODB) Plan 1 and Plan 2 offerings. Partners should begin identifying impacted customers and preparing transition plans early.

Microsoft is expanding storage options and providing an extended runway to support smooth customer migrations. CloudAscent has been updated to help partners pinpoint affected tenants.

Key dates to know are:

  • End of sale: June 2026 (no new tenants after May 31; renewals only)
  • End of life: January 2027 (no renewals)
  • End of service: December 2029 (all standalone plans fully retired)

AI and Business Solutions Updates

New SKU Launch: Agent 365 and Microsoft 365 E7

To help organizations move from AI experimentation to enterprise-scale adoption, Microsoft has announced the general availability of Microsoft Agent 365 and Microsoft 365 E7, introducing a new, fully integrated platform for AI-powered work.

At the core of this launch is Microsoft Agent 365, the enterprise control plane for AI agents that helps organizations govern and secure agents at scale. As agents become embedded in everyday workflows, Agent 365 offers visibility into how agents are used and enforces security policies to prevent risk while accelerating innovation.

Microsoft 365 E7, also known as the Frontier Suite, brings together Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365 E5, the Microsoft Entra Suite and Agent 365 into a single solution designed to unify productivity, security, identity and AI governance.

For partners, this is your opportunity to start the conversation around agentic AI. With E7 consolidating AI, security and identity into a single platform, you can help customers simplify their operations with the governance required for enterprise-scale AI deployment.

End Customer Training: Microsoft 365 Copilot

Could you use a hand getting your clients fully on board with AI (so they use and renew their licenses)? Pax8 now offers Microsoft 365 Copilot end customer training that partners can offer to their customers. These briefings help you build pipeline and deepen trust while showcasing how Copilot translates to real-world ROI.

Partners who participate can educate customers on Copilot capabilities and introduce Copilot Chat while leveraging guided demo environments. While you’re accelerating adoption, you’ll also be able to identify net-new sales opportunities. Simply identify a minimum of five customers interested in learning more about Copilot, and Pax8 will help you scope and deliver the session.
