Meet some of our team members!

From the outside, Pax8 might seem like just a tech company rapidly growing due to the demand for cloud products. But if you take a closer look, you’ll see that it’s the people of Pax8 who are driving our growth.

In this article, you’ll get to know some of these wonderful people. They work in different departments and come from different backgrounds — but by bringing their unique qualities to Pax8, they’ve made the company more diverse, interesting, and successful.

From the hard-hitting questions of how they’d respond to aliens offering them a ride, to just what they had for breakfast, these Pax8 team members are ready to share their passions and stories with you.

Meet Pamela Egger, Sales Enablement Specialist

People of Pax8 - Pamela EggerWhat is your role at Pax8, and how long have you been here?

I am a Sales Enablement Specialist and have been with Pax8 for 1.5 years. I provide training materials and content for internal sales to reduce ramp time and increase sales effectiveness.

What is the most rewarding thing about working at Pax8?

I feel rewarded by having the opportunity to work with individuals at all levels in the organization. I have collaborated with Pax8 leaders, sales leaders, sales trainers, and sales agents. No one ever feels like a big shot. Everyone is willing to help, to teach, and to learn. It makes for a great work environment.

What’s your favorite game to play with family and friends?

I’m going to have to say Cards Against Humanity. It lets me see who my competitors are and how they think. Besides, I’ve never made my grown kids laugh so hard.

What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics? (Would you create a new sport?)

I’d create the category of Speed Drawing. (Note from Pax8: Pam is a talented artist and designed a shirt and other artwork as part of our initiative of supporting the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center.)

If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?

I would bring back the formality of the ‘50s — suits and dresses — because I like being fancy. I love how suave my parents looked in old photos.

Meet Zachary Gibson, Operations Solutions Consultant (OSC)

People of Pax8 - Zachary GibsonWhat is your role at Pax8, and how long have you been here?

I’m currently an Operations Solutions Consultant (OSC for short). I’ve been at Pax8 since January 2019 and started as a Cloud Generation Specialist (CGS). I moved down to the Sales Engineering team in August 2019, and after 18 months of covering Productivity and Microsoft products, I moved back into sales in January 2021 to start the Microsoft Dynamics 365 team with Ryan Hawkinson and Ben Eichholz. That team has now evolved to help identify gaps and opportunities in our partners’ sales operations as well as their service operations to help maximize profit.

Why did you want to work at Pax8 and what did you find most attractive about the company?

I was living in Wyoming and found Pax8 on BuiltinCO. I was honestly looking for a full overhaul to my career. Everything is going towards technology so I figured might as well jump on in! In my defense, I don’t think anyone wants to wake up and sell radio and print media space.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why?

Bulldog. Stubborn and vocal, but when you connect with them, you become their #1 fan and vice versa!

If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or into the future?

I’m going to the future and coming back ready to change some things for the better.

Meet Erin Sobon, Director of Corporate Development

People of Pax8 - Erin SobonWhat is your role at Pax8, and how long have you been here?

I joined Pax8 in 2018 and am currently the Director of Corporate Development. In my role, I help execute our inorganic growth strategy. Most recently, I was involved in the acquisition of Sea-Level Operations, a strategic acquisition that strengthens the Pax8 education and enablement programs.

What past experiences or lessons do you bring to your current role?

My background is in management consulting, so the majority of my career was spent working on numerous projects across a variety of industries and technologies. Having experience solving many different business challenges makes me well rounded and adaptable — two things that are great to have at Pax8!

If aliens landed on Earth tomorrow and offered to take you with them, would you go?

It depends. Are there mountains to hike and ski?

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

A bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and hemp hearts.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what is it?

Easy. Frozen big cup Reese’s.

Meet Michael Nickels, Vendor Marketing Manager

People of Pax8 - Michael NickelsWhat is your role at Pax8, and how long have you been here?

I am a Vendor Marketing Manager. I work with our vendors to help market their solution offerings to our partners and ultimately help drive comprehensive stack adoption within our partner base. In addition, we assist with the onboarding and launch of new vendors to the marketplace.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

A typical workday with me is a healthy mix between external vendor-facing meetings, as well as internal meetings. I then take action items from those meetings and help manage vendor marketing engagements from ideation to campaign wrap-up —  then report on results. I have the benefit of engaging with a lot of different departments at Pax8, which gives me the visibility to talk and work with the variety of talent Pax8 has within our workforce.

If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?

Oh, this question! I’ve thought a lot about this previously, especially in quarantine. Because of that, I would have to say teleportation. It’d be nice to skip the I-70 traffic to go snowboarding, as well as hop on a beach to enjoy sunset at the end of a day.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Bizarre coming from someone living in a landlocked state, but I would have to say sushi, despite the inevitable mercury poisoning.

What would the title of your autobiography be?

This is Me, But I Look Like Him. (A title related to being an identical twin.)

When you partner with Pax8 or join our team, you’re not just another cog in the machine. Our employees bring their stories with them into their roles. They show the industry that it’s possible to love the cloud, love your job, and love other, completely random things outside of cloud.

The people of Pax8 are the secret ingredient to our company’s success.
