Looming amendments to Australia’s Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) were supposed to help the country get closer to the “gold standard” of data protection and privacy laws observed in the European Union under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). But getting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to be able to comply with those changes was another story.
North Queensland, Australia-based managed service provider (MSP) ADITS wanted to help its clients navigate the waters of privacy. They needed a partner to help them provide solutions to improve cybersecurity overall and maintain digital privacy.
How Pax8 Helped
ADITS turned to Pax8 to help them develop CyberShield, a Privacy Act assessment and robust cybersecurity solution. Through the Pax8 Marketplace, ADITS quickly sourced and deployed essential solutions like Microsoft 365, usecure for security awareness and Keeper for password management — all integrated seamlessly to meet evolving client needs.
“Pax8 went the extra mile to look after us even when we weren’t a client,” said Adam Cliffe, Managing Director for Southeast Queensland, ADITS. “So, it was a no brainer to form a partnership with them, particularly when the Marketplace is designed to help us reclaim operational time in a period of business development.”
The partnership went beyond technical enablement. ADITS leaned into Pax8 Academy’s instructor-led training to upskill their team and build a consulting model that mirrors the Academy’s hands-on, practical approach. This meant ADITS could confidently guide their clients through the complexities of the Privacy Act, including assessments aligned with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) 11.1.
“I’m working to grow the cyber team. And any new hires will benefit from Pax8 Academy’s training resources, with their consulting critical in helping us become a focused team, capable of running the CyberShield offering,” Cliffe said.
