Canadian small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) rely on Unicorne<\/a>\u2019s deep expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture to modernize their operations. But when its clients lost access to Anthropic\u2019s Claude 4.5 model through Amazon Bedrock, many felt the impact \u2014 especially healthcare-based Plume AI<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unicorne didn\u2019t want to shift its clients to a new model because it would have been detrimental to their clients\u2019 business outcomes, so instead the team made the call to Pax8.<\/p>\n

“We knew we had to have a big brother in the room to help advocate in our corner,” Maheux said.<\/p>\n

Pax8 immediately recognized how many SMBs would be affected by Anthropic\u2019s decision. The leadership knew they had to engage quickly and directly with the AI company.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were able to pack all of the opportunity, bring visibility to Anthropic to what they were actually closing their door on,\u201d Maheux said. \u201cAnd thanks to Pax8, they were able to turn things back in our favor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unicorne expected months of back and forth, but that\u2019s not what happened. \u201cIn a matter of days, the table was flipped,\u201d Maheux said. Given Unicorne\u2019s strong background in AWS<\/a>, Anthropic agreed to provide Claude\u2019s 4.5 model to SMBs working through the Pax8 Marketplace, with AWS accounts enabled via Amazon Bedrock.
