John Atencio<\/a> has been a popular jeweler in the Denver area since opening in 1976, growing to six stores and an online business. But getting its network infrastructure sorted as the business grew was another story.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did as much as we could on our own, but it was extraordinarily inefficient, and things would take much longer than they should have,\u201d EVP Lex Atencio admitted.<\/p>\n

With multiple retail locations and a central office, they needed a streamlined solution that would help them serve customers and maintain strong communication while keeping costs down and improving cybersecurity.<\/p>\n

How Pax8 Helped<\/h2>\n

John Atencio turned to Pax8 to help them find an IT partner who could take over their tech needs. Pax8 introduced them to Kenyatta Computer Services<\/a> (KCS), who heard their concerns, did an IT assessment and immediately got to work.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted someone local,\u201d Atencio says. \u201cWe knew that we wanted someone hands-on that we could have a human connection with. KCS was the only company that met us face to face.\u201d<\/p>\n

KCS was able to take outdated, siloed networks with different providers at each location and standardize their network infrastructure with Lumen through the Pax8 Marketplace<\/a>. The new network provided unified WiFi and LAN access, and enabled monitoring of all locations within a \u201csingle pane of glass.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t put a price on the system KCS built,\u201d Atencio says. \u201cIt\u2019s helped us be cohesive. The doors keep opening on things that we can do because we now have everything backed up in the cloud and centralized.\u201d<\/p>\n

While working through the network connection process, KCS was able to better secure John Atencio\u2019s data and provided disaster recovery planning with Dropsuite for data backup.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey came in and streamlined everything,\u201d Atencio says. \u201cThey reduced our pricing structures with our telecommunications companies. They installed security services that we didn\u2019t have, and they were able to get it all under one roof.\u201d<\/p>\n

KCS says using Opportunity Explorer in the Pax8 Marketplace has helped them match solutions to gaps in clients\u2019 tech stacks.<\/p>\n

\u201cOpportunity Explorer saves us so much time,\u201d says Nahjee Maybin, CEO of KCS. \u201cInstead of having spreadsheets and looking through different invoices, we\u2019re able to see, visually mapped, where the stacks align, find those gaps and suggest toolsets to our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n
